Sakshi School of Journalism (SSJ)
The Sakshi School of Journalism is established by Sakshi Media Group, which is promoted by Jagati Publications Ltd., with the objective to produce next generation leadership in Telugu Journalism.
The training programme at Sakshi School of Journalism not only provides rigorous training in language skills, but also equips the young journalists with necessary skills such as reporting, editorial logic and making use of technical tools. The programme aims at imparting critical capacities and generalist perspective, which enable them to become effective journalists who can adapt to the ever-changing media landscape.
Sakshi School of Journalism (SSJ), a division of Sakshi Media Group has issued notification for admission into Post Graduate Diploma Courses for the academic year 2014-15. The duration of the program is one year. Specialization available are print, television and web media streams. Eligibility: Applicants should have proficiency in Telugu and English languages along with knowledge on current affairs. Minimum education qualification is Degree in any discipline. Age must be below 30 years as on 01 January 2014.
Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on written test, group discussion and personal interviews. Written test will consists of questions on Telugu, English, translation and current affairs.
Stipend : Selected candidates will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 8,000 for first six months and Rs. 10,000 per month for next six months. During training period for the next one year, they will get a monthly salary of Rs. 12,000. They will be absorbed as Sub-editor / Reporter / Copy Editor/ Content Developer in different organisations of Sakshi Media Group.

1. What is the programme on offer?
Sakshi School of Journalism offers one-year full-time
Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Journalism.
2. What are the available specialisations?
Print, Television and Web Media specialisations are on offer.
Students will be assigned to the respective specialisations based on two
things – candidate’s choice of specilisation and his/her aptitude, which
is demonstrated during the selection process.
3. What are the eligibility criteria for the programme?
A graduate in any stream from a recongised university is
eligible to apply. The age limit is 30 years; on 1 January, 2014.
4. What kind of skill set should I have?
The candidates who would like to join this programme are expected to
have good command over Telugu language, reasonable command over English,
articulations skills and interest in the profession of journalism.
5. Should I have previous experience in journalism?
No. However, previous experience in journalism would be added
advantage to the candidate.
6. What is the admission procedure?
The interested candidates have to apply for the entrance exam
and get through its phases to be selected for the programme. For more

7. What are the details of fees and scholarships?
The selected candidates need not pay any fee for the programme. Indeed,
they will be awarded monthly stipend of Rs. 8,000 for first six months
and Rs. 12,000 for rest of the six months.
8. Can I avail hostel facility during the programme?
No. Sakshi School of Journalism doesn’t provide any hostel facility. The
programme participants are expected to take care of their boarding and

Yes. Candidates shall work for Sakshi Media Group for a teunre
of four years, including one year of training. The candidates who are
enrolling for the Programme shall sign the contract agreement
accordingly at the beginning of the programme.

The selected candidates will participate in one year full-time
Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Journalism. During this time, the

Selection of the candidates takes places in two phases.

understanding of contemporary happenings and articulation capabilities.
Those who have passed this phase will be selected for the one-year PG
Diploma Programme in Journalism of the School.
The selected candidates will be given a monthly stipend of Rs.

decided according to the rules and regulations of the respective
divisions. The trainees must accept any responsibility at any work
location as assigned by the organisation.
The selected candidates must work at least for four years with Sakshi
Media Group and the contract period include the one-year training
programme. They will have to sign a contract agreement accordingly at
the beginning of the Programme.
